ITHACA, NY- Cornell made this Valentines Day weekend a memorable one by posting their second decisive victory in as many days with 9-0 shutout of Hobart. The win over the Hobart squad moves Cornell up to 8-4 on the season, a great improvement over their record at the same time last year.
All-Ivy Squasher Matt Serediak set the tone with his manhandling of opponent Tevir Rathore at the first positon. The rest of the team accomplished the feat in similar fashion; Hobart managed a victory in only one set in the form of the opening 8-10 set loss to Rohit Gupta, who responded by allowing his opponent only 2, 4, and 0 points in the next three sets respectively.
The Big Red will have some time to revel in this weekend's success before facing the daunting challenge of the 4-day NISRA Championships to be held in New Haven, CT starting Thursday, February 26.
