ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Big Red women's squash team battled two of the toughest teams in the country and its inexperience showed, dropping a pair of 9-0 decisions to No. 1 Yale and No. 8 Williams on Saturday afternoon at the Belkin Squash Courts. No. 11 Cornell's record slipped to 3-5 with the losses.

Cornell took only one game in the two losses as Anna Beavis took a 9-4 decision at No. 8 against the Ephs before Joanna Leathers rebounded for a 4-9, 9-0, 9-5, 9-6 victory. Brooke Stetson gave Kate Whipple all she could handle at No. 2, but Williams' player pulled out a 10-9, 9-5, 9-4 victory.

The Bulldogs played without No. 1 ranked Michelle Quibell, sister of Cornell's Debbie Quibell '04, the school's all-time leader in kills for the Big Red volleyball program.

Cornell will next host Ivy League foe Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at the Belkin Squash Courts.
