HANOVER, N.H. -- The Cornell men's and women's squash teams were both defeated by strong Dartmouth teams. The Cornell Men (3-7) were coming off of a 7-2 win against Amherst, yet the Big Green proved to be to much for the Red, despite a very close 5-4 match. The Red Women (3-6) also had won against Amherst, yet were blanked by Dartmouth, dropping the matches 9-0.
The men's squash team was narrowly edged out by the Big Green, as the Red dropped to Dartmouth 5-4. The deciding match was at the No. 1 position, as Dartmouth's Andrew Boumford defeated Cornell's Matt Serediak in five games (3-2), to secure the win for Dartmouth. The Big Red also picked up victories at the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 7 positions.
Also coming off of a victory against Amherst, the Cornell women were looking to prove themselves against a strong Dartmouth team. Cornell's Maxi Prinsen put up a fight in the No. 1 position, sending the match to four games. However, Dartmouth's senior Julia Drury edged out Prinsen, 9-3, 6-9, 9-3, 9-0.
The Big Red Squash teams will both be back in action on Sunday, 1/29/2006, at Williams. The matches will begin at 12 p.m.
