PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - The Cornell women's squash team travel to take on Pennsylvania teams this weekend. On Friday, they made quick work of the Franklin & Marshall, winning 9-0. However, on Saturday, the tables were turned, as the Big Red was caught on the losing end of a 9-0 result to the University of Pennsylvania. The women will next travel to Princeton to take on the Tigers on Sunday
On Friday, the Big Red only lost one match of 27, as they went on to sweep Franklin and Marshall. Eight of the nine seeds had no trouble putting their opponents away of the court, winning by scores of 3-0. Freshman Rachel Wagner needed a fourth match to decide her game, but she came through and beat Davinia Buckley (Franklin & Marshall) 3-1.
However, on Saturday, the Big Red failed to find its winning ways, as they fell to the University of Pennsylvania Quakers, who were picked to be fourth by the College Squash Association.
The Big Red will finish off its weekend play on Sunday, when take on Princeton.
