NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Cornell women's squash team continued its strong performance at the NISRA Championships by beating Stanford 8-1 in the second round. The Big Red looked solid as it swept seven of its eight match wins in straight sets.

At the No. 2 spot, sophomore Alex Cornett won her first two matches 9-1, 9-6, before being declared winner by default in the third set. Maxi Prinsen could not overcome her opponent, as she was swept by Katie Brewster of Stanford.

Besides Prinsen's loss, the only other trouble to the Big Red came in the form of a set at the No. 4 spot. Leading her match 2-0, Rachel Wagner could not finish off Esther Cheng (Stanford) losing the third set 9-7. However, she would come back to win the fourth set, and the match, in decisive fashion, 9-2.

The Big Red will await to see who their opponent is tomorrow.
