ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red women's polo team opened its season with a bang on Saturday evening galloping to a 23-8 win over Garrison Forest at the Oxley Equestrian Center.

Erin Bold, Lizzie Wisner and Ari constant started for Cornell in the 2008-09 opener. Garrison scored the first goal of the match, but the Big Red bounced back to score the next six and ended ahead 8-4 after one.

Emily Bold replaced Erin Bold in the second, and the Big Red continued to lead going into the half with a 12-7 advantage. The team continued to click in the third, and Erin Bold came back in to play. Cornell shut out Garrison 6-0 in the chukker, before Emily Bold came back in once again. The team's success continued with a 5-1 victory in the fourth to ride away with a 23-8 home opener win.

Constant and Wisner each scored nine times, Erin Bold added three, and Emily Bold and the horses each added one.
