Bucknell Sends Cornell Men's Soccer To 3-0 Loss

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell scored three second-half goals to send the Cornell men's soccer team to a 3-0 defeat on Friday night in the first round of the Days Inn Classic in Lewisburg, Pa. The Big Red falls to 0-3 on the year, while Bucknell improves to 3-1-1.

Following a scoreless first half, the Bison took just three minutes to get on the scoreboard as Chris Hennings finished off a cross from Nader Sawtarie from six yards out past sophomore goalkeeper Scott Brody. Hennings added his second goal of the match and seventh of the year in the 56th minute, taking a through-ball from Conor O'Brien and finishing to the left side of the goal.

Bucknell added an insurance tally in the 68th minute as Ross Liberati headed home a cross on the back post to make the score 3-0. 

Brody picked up three saves in the loss for the Big Red, while Tommy Caso made four saves for the Bison.

Cornell returns to action on Sunday, seeking its first victory of the year when it takes on New Hampshire in a 12 p.m. start in Lewisburg, Pa., to conclude the Days Inn Classic.
