ITHACA, N.Y. -- A pair of second-half goals two and a half minutes apart would prove to be the difference as the Cornell women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Harvard on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field in Ithaca.

Cornell goalkeeper Megan Bartlett made six saves in the loss for the Big Red, which fell to 1-9-1 on the year and 0-3 in the Ivy League. Harvard's Lauren Mann got the win, making a pair of saves for the victory, as the Crimson evened its record at 5-5-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play.

Following a scoreless first half, the Crimson got on the 53rd minute, taking advantage of a free kick deep in the Cornell end. Harvard's Lindsey Kowal played the ball across the penalty area, where it was headed back into the middle by Gina Wideroff. The ball hung in the air until it was headed into the left side of the goal by Taryn Kurcz for what would turn out to be the eventual game-winner.

Two and a half minutes later, the Crimson added an insurance tally as Alexandra Conigliaro played a through-ball to Katherine Sheeleigh, who slotted the ball past Bartlett and into the Cornell goal.

Cornell was out-shot on the match, 16-10, while the Crimson held a decisive 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Cornell returns to action next weekend, traveling to Yale for a 4:30 p.m. contest against the Bulldogs.
