ITHACA, N.Y. -- Senior Matt Bouraee scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Cornell men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Columbia on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field in Ithaca. The win gives Cornell a 6-6-5 record overall, the first .500 mark since the 2001 season.

On Senior Day, the Big Red senior scored his fifth goal of the year at the 93:18 mark of the first overtime session, taking a cross from Matt Devitt and lifting a shot to the back post past Columbia goalkeeper Alexander Aurrichio.

Cornell had an outstanding chance late in the first half to break the scoreless tie, but Bouraee's attempt was stopped by a diving attempt by Aurrichio.

Aurrichio stopped eight shots in taking the loss for the Lions, while Cornell goalkeeper Rick Pflasterer stopped five shots for his second shutout of the season.

Saturday's game marked the final contest for Cornell seniors Matt Bouraee, J.J. Bain and Matt Devitt.
