FAIRFAX, Va. -- A pair of goals six minutes apart at the end of the first half were the difference as the Cornell women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest at George Mason to conclude the George Mason Tournament on Sunday afternoon in Fairfax, Va.

Despite holding a 15-12 advantage in shots, it was the Patriots who finished their chances as they took a 2-0 lead late in the first half. In the 36th minute, Jessica Pisasale collected a ball played in off a Cornell foul and tapped home the eventual game-winner. Six minutes later, it was Annie Lebherz who ran onto a long clearance by George Mason goalkeeper Katie Frey and touched home the ball around Cornell goalkeeper Kelly Murphy for the insurance tally.

The Big Red (1-5-1) out-shot the Patriots (7-1) in both halves of the game, including a 9-8 lead in the first half and a 6-4 margin after the break. George Mason goalkeeper Katie Frey picked up six saves in the win, while Murphy stopped a pair of shots in taking the loss.

Freshman Maneesha Chitanvis and sophomore Sidra Bonner were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts on the weekend. Chitanvis had five shots on Sunday, with one of those going on the goal frame.

Cornell is next in action on Friday when it opens up Ivy League play with a 7 p.m. game against Columbia at Berman Field.
