Women's Polo Crushes Crimson 26-2

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo knocked off Harvard 26-2 on Saturday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center to improve to 11-0 on the season. Lizzie Wisner scored 11 goals to lead both teams.

Wisner, Jess Cross and Erin Bold put up six  goals before the Crimson could get on the board. The Big Red would go on to end the first ahead 9-1. Cross and Wisner gave way to Ali Hoffman and Kayleigh Sullivan with Erin Bold in the second chukker. That threesome added to  Cornell's lead, shutting out Harvard while securing a 14-1 advantage at the half. Wisner came back with Britney Cox and Alice Rowland in the third with no let down, as Cornell continued to dominate the Crimson, extending the lead to 21-2 after three. Switching up again Hoffman, Cross and Sullivan came back for the fourth and match the second chukker with another shutout defensively while padding the final score to 26-2. In just two chukkers, Wisner led all scorers with 11, Bold and Hoffman each had five, Cross scored four and Rowland notched one for the final tally. The win kept Cornell undefeated at 11-0 and on top of the rankings.

The Big Red will play Virginia on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.at Oxley Equestrian Center.
