The Eagles got some momentum late in the half but a spectacular kick save from
Alex Botte, followed by a great defensive effort on the ensuing penalty corner, preserved Cornell's slim lead and the Big Red took the 1-0 advantage into the intermission.
Lock Haven turned up the offensive pressure in the second half, putting six shots on goals and earning four penalty corners, but Cornell was up to the task, thanks to five saves from Botte and a defensive save by
Mattie Prodanovic with less than 1:40 to play in the contest.
Botte finished with the game with eight saves to pick up the win, while Erin Terreson was called on to make just two saves in the loss.
