CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second straight season, the women's soccer team rallied for a late goal to earn a tie with Harvard. Junior Mary Keroack provided the equalizer in the 75th minute of Saturday's game, helping the Big Red capture a 1-1 tie with the defending Ivy League champion.

Keroack's goal came off Cornell's lone corner kick of the second half. Senior forward Maneesha Chitanvis provided the service, and Keroack's header from 15 yards out beat the Harvard goalkeeper.

It was Keroack's first goal since the second game of her freshman season, when she scored twice in the Big Red's victory over Delaware State on Sept. 5, 2010. Chitanvis' assist gives her points in three straight games, also pushing her into a tie with classmate Xandra Hompe for the team's scoring lead (10 points).

Junior goalkeeper Tori Christ made a career-high 10 saves for the Big Red, including the only stop necessary by either team in the two 15-minute overtime periods. The only shot to elude her came 2 minutes, 14 seconds into the game, when Harvard's Meg Casscells-Hamby converted a bouncing pass from 10 yards out.

Cornell (1-10-1, 0-2-1 Ivy League) will host its second Ivy League game of the season at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, when it takes on Yale in the second game of a Berman Field doubleheader. After a trip to Brown the following weekend, the Big Red will culminate its season with home games against Princeton and Dartmouth.
