DOVER, Del. -- Junior midfielder Claire MacManus scored with 39 seconds left in the first half and senior goalkeeper Tori Christ made two saves for the shutout in the women's soccer team's 1-0 victory over Delaware State on Sunday afternoon.

MacManus' goal was her first of the season and the third of her career. Sophomore defender Charlotte Tate assisted on the goal, which was a looping shot over the goalkeeper.

Christ was called upon to make just two saves for her second shutout of the season. The Big Red dominated the game statistically, outshooting the Hornets, 22-2, and earning nine corner kicks compared to just one from the hosts.

Cornell (7-3-1) will now turn to Ivy League play for the balance of the regular season, starting with a home game against Harvard at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Big Red is 5-1 at Berman Field this season.
