1/17/2014 4:47:00 PM

CANTON, N.Y. — The Big Red squash teams wrap up a stretch of four consecutive road matches when they compete against St. Lawrence on Saturday for the first at The Robie Squash Center. Both the men's and women's matches begin at 2 p.m.

The Cornell women's team (4-2) is coming off one win in three matches last weekend, a triumph over Brown followed by the season's first two setbacks against Yale and Trinity.

Ranked sixth in the country by the College Squash Association, the Big Red is 6-0 all-time against St. Lawrence (2-3). The Saints enter the match ranked 19th in the country.

The Cornell men's team (4-2) also defeated Brown and lost to both Yale and Trinity last weekend, leaving the squad eighth in the national rankings. St. Lawrence (7-0) is at the high point of its program's history, powered by 2013 CSA National Individual Champion Amr Khalifa.

The Saints were ranked eighth in the country at the end of the 2012-13 regular season, but vaulted up to sixth after defeating the Big Red in the consolation semifinals of the Potter Cup. St. Lawrence is now up to fourth in the country – the highest ranking in program history – after defeating Rochester on Nov. 24.

Cornell is 8-1 all-time against St. Lawrence, including seven 9-0 victories. The Big Red then defeated the Saints, 6-3, on Jan. 13, 2013 before falling, 5-4, in the Potter Cup consolation semis.
