1/31/2014 6:02:00 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's squash team started off a three-match weekend with a 7-0 victory over Franklin & Marshall on Friday at Belkin International Squash Courts. It was the Big Red's ninth consecutive victory in its all-time series with the Diplomats.

Sixth-ranked Cornell (6-2) won all seven matches in three games against No. 18 F&M (5-11), surrendering no more than eight points in any given game. The No. 8 and No. 9 matches were uncontested.

Junior Lindsay Seginson competed at the No. 1 position for the first time this season, defeating Roxana Mead. Freshman Sydney Francis improved to 6-0 in her collegiate career with a victory at the No. 6 spot. She is now tied for the team lead in victories with sophomore Reut Odinak – an easy Friday winner from the No. 3 position.

The Big Red returns to Ivy League play at noon Saturday against national No. 1 Harvard before wrapping up the weekend at noon Sunday against No. 8 Dartmouth.
