ITHACA, N.Y. — Junior
Aditya Jagtap shook off an early deficit for a four-game victory at the No. 2 position, but the men's squash team wasn't able to generate anything else Saturday in an 8-1 loss to Harvard. Cornell, ranked eighth by the College Squash Association, falls to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the Ivy League.
For Jagtap, it was his third victory of the weekend. He has improved to 8-2 on the season, competing from the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Jagtap dropped the opening game against Brandon McLaughlin on Saturday before rallying for a 3-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 victory.
Sophomore Gustav Runersjö went to five games in his No. 5 match, and
Bryan Keating (No. 3) and
Rishi Jalan (No. 6) also won games in their respective matches in the opening rotation. No. 2 Harvard is now 10-0 and 4-0 in the Ivy League.
The weekend concludes with a noon Sunday match against No. 11 Dartmouth.
