ITHACA, N.Y. — Sophomore
Olivia Wherry won a marathon five-game match at the No. 8 position, but the women's squash dropped an 8-1 decision to undefeated national No. 1 Harvard on Saturday at Belkin International Squash Courts.
The third and fourth games of Wherry's match went to extra points. She never trailed, eventually prevailing in the fifth game, 11-8, against the Crimson's Isabelle Dowling. Unfortunately for the Big Red, it would be the only point generated by the home side on the day. Cornell, ranked sixth by the College Squash Association, fell to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in Ivy League play.
The Big Red continues Ivy League play at noon Sunday against No. 8 Dartmouth.
