CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The men's squash team will finish the season ranked sixth in the nation after dropping a close 5-4 match with St. Lawrence on Sunday in the consolation final of the College Squash Association's Potter Cup at Harvard's Murr Center.
Junior
Aditya Jagtap finished off a perfect 3-0 weekend from the No. 2 position, winning in four games to help the Big Red enter the final rotation tied at 3 with the fourth-ranked Saints. Seventh-seeded Cornell then got a four-game victory from senior
Bryan Keating at the No. 4 spot, but fell in the other two remaining matches to place sixth at the event.
Freshman
Harry Freeman won his second match of the weekend from the No. 9 position, sweeping his opponent in three games. Sophomore Gustav Runersjö then did the same at No. 5, which – when coupled with Jagtap's win at No. 2 – pulled the Big Red even after the second rotation.
Up next for a handful of the Big Red's competitors will be a trip to the College Squash Association's Individual Championships from Feb. 28 to March 2.
