ITHACA, N.Y. – The defending national champion Cornell women's polo team takes on the University of Virginia this Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. in Charlottesville.  The Big Red are out for redemption after Sunday's disappointing 13-12 shootout loss to the Maryland Polo Club. 
 
Back starting are seniors Claire Stieg and Elena Wicker and senior captain Anna Winslow. Wicker tallied six goals total goals in the MPC match, Winslow tallied five and Stieg had one.
 
Cornell and UVA have met for the last four years in the finals of the USPA National Championships.  UVA leads the USPA finals rivalry with three victories.  Cornell snapped their losing streak when Big Red walked away with the narrow 17-16 victory.
