HANOVER, N.H. — Junior goalkeeper
Kelsey Tierney matched a season high with seven saves, but the women's soccer team closed its season with a 1-0 loss to Dartmouth on Saturday at Burnham Field. Cornell finished up 9-4-4 overall and 2-4-1 in the Ivy League.
Lucielle Kozlov scored the game's only goal, her 11th of the season, in the 61st minute by taking a pass from Lauren Lucas about 25 yards from goal out from the right side of the penalty area. She beat her defender wide and tucked a shot inside the far post to give the Big Green the only goal it would need.
Casey Cousineau made two saves for the shutout, stopping a shot from
Katerina Weikert and a long, curling effort off the foot of
Brenna Mockler. The Big Red has not won a game at Dartmouth (8-4-4, 1-3-3) since 1986.
Cornell finished tied for fifth place in the Ivy League, which is the program's best league finish since it also finished in that position in 1996.
