CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —
Aditya Jagtap and
Graham Dietz won their respective matches Saturday, but the men's squash ultimately could not make a case to move up in the national rankings with a 7-2 loss against defending national champion Harvard at Murr Center.
Cornell (5-5, 1-3 Ivy League) entered the weekend ranked seventh in the nation by the Collegiate Squash Association, getting on the board in the opening rotation with Dietz's three-set victory at the No. 6 position. Harvard (6-2, 4-0), ranked sixth, responded by sweeping the second rotation to clinch the match. Jagtap later nailed down the Big Red's second point of the day, dispatching of the Crimson's Madhav Dhingra in three sets from the No. 1 spot.
The Big Red is back in action at noon Sunday against No. 11 Dartmouth.
