Meet the Big Red is a Q&A segment designed to introduce the freshman members of the Cornell wrestling program.

Hunter Richard

Q: What's your favorite thing about wrestling?
A: My favorite thing about wrestling is that it teaches mental toughness. We are constantly pushed through barriers that we previously thought were unreachable. The work ethic and dedication transfers to everyday life.

Q: What's the worst?
A: The worst part about wrestling is the constant grind. However, it is what sets us apart from everyone else.

Q:Why did you pick Cornell?
A: I picked Cornell because it was relatively close to home, one of the best schools in the country, and has a nationally ranked wrestling team. It was a no brainer.

Q: Where'd you go to high school?
A: I went to Holland Patent for high school.

Q: What do you miss the most about home?
A: I miss my family and close friends from home.

Q: What's one thing you're excited about going into your freshman season?
A: I am excited to wrestle division 1 and have a chance to meet so many new people from around the world.

A: Bonding with the team.

A: Home cooked meals.
