ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women's polo team placed second at the 2019 Bill Field Invitational over the weekend, falling to the University of Virginia Polo Club in the finals by a final score of 25-13 on Sunday, Nov. 24. Cornell advanced to Sunday's finals following victories over Skidmore College on Wednesday and Kentucky on Friday. With a pair of victories, Cornell now owns a 9-4 overall record for the 2019-20 season.
The Big Red defeated Skidmore by a final score of 21-7 on Wednesday, before defeating Kentucky,18-16, to advance to the finals.
Next up for Cornell is one final home match of year, when the Big Red host Harvard on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Polo play resumes for the women after the new year, on Saturday, Jan. 25 when UMass comes to town.
