MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. -- Brooklyn Daly hurled a six-inning perfect game and Drexel scored all the runs it needed in a five-run first to lift the Dragons to an 11-0 victory over Cornell on Saturday evening at the Madeira Beach Invitational. The Big Red dropped to 0-3 on the young season.
Katie Lew took the loss, going the distance and allowing eight earned runs while striking out three in falling to 0-2 on the year. Linda Rush led the Drexel offense with a 2-for-3 day with two doubles and three runs scored. Jenelle Ladrido drove in three runs in support of Daly, who struck out four in improved to 2-0 on the year.
The Big Red will close out the tournament with Sunday contests against Detroit Mercy (9 a.m.) and Manhattan (11:30 a.m.).
