ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell polo teams both dropped narrow contests in the USPA Intercollegiate National semifinals, ending their seasons in Charlottesville, Va.
The men closed their campaign with a 17-4 record after dropping a 15-14 contest to Texas A&M on Thursday. The 17 team wins by the Northeast Regional champion were the most since posting a 19-5 mark during the 2003-04 season. Northeast All-Star Lorenzo Masias will return to the lineup next year in search of its 12th national title.
The Big Red women were 14-10 overall, dropping a 19-17 decision to Virginia in the semis. After winning a Northeast Regional crown,the 15-time national champions will return junior all-region picks
Shariah Harris and
Rachel Booth next fall.
Head coach Branden Van Loon will head into his first full season as head coach after combining for a 16-9 record in the spring.
