HEAD COACH ROB KOLL

• Cornell head coach Rob Koll is in his 27th season at Cornell (310-97-5, .758; 121-8-1 Ivy, .934)
• He is the David R. Dunlop '59 Head Coach of Wrestling at Cornell
• The all-time winningest wrestling coach in program history, Koll has guided the Big Red to 17 straight Ivy League titles (20 overall), 11 EIWA crowns and eight top five NCAA team finishes, including second twice (2010, 2011)
• He was the 2005 NWCA Division I Coach of the Year and the Dan Gable Coach of the Year
• His wrestlers have won 16 national titles with 71 All-Americans and 64 individual EIWA champions.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
• Also coming off a trip to the South Beach Duals, Lehigh owns a 4-3 record prior to facing Binghamton on Jan. 10 and Cornell on Jan. 11.
• The Mountain Hawks have won three straight duals, with wins over #15 Minnesota (29-10), Duke (47-4) and #19 Missouri (22-9).
• Lehigh boasts a lineup with seven ranked wrestlers, including five ranked in the top 10 at their respective weights.
• 174-pounder Jordan Kutler is currently the #2 ranked wrestler at his weight, owning a 9-1 record this season with wins over highly regarded wrestlers in Mikey Labriola (Nebraska) and Devin Skatzka (Minnesota).
• Columbia has wrestled just one dual to date, with an 0-1 record. The Lions have wrestled at four tournaments in addition to an early dual against Stanford.
• Columbia currently has two ranked wrestlers on its roster in 125-pounder Joe Manchio and 141-pounder Matt Kazimir.
• Columbia has a very young lineup in 2019-20 featuring four first years, five sophomores and one junior.

• Cornell and Lehigh have met 97 times, with Lehigh holding a 61-33-3 advantage in the all-time series, dating back to 1909-10.

LAST TIME VS. LEHIGH and COLUMBIA
• Lehigh jumped out to a 13-0 lead after three matches and survived with an overtime victory in the dual's final match to upset No. 7 Cornell 19-16 on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.
Max Dean, Ben Honis, Vito Arujau, Chas Tucker and Yianni Diakomihalis all won matches last year against the Mountain Hawks, with the No. 20-ranked Honis upsetting #15 Jake Jakobsen.
• Cornell last defeated Columbia, 30-10, on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019.
Vito Arujau, Chas Tucker, Jonathan Furnas, Adam Santoro, Max Dean, Ben Honis and Jeramy Sweany all picked up victories for the Big Red.

LAST TIME OUT

• Cornell competed at the South Beach Duals, going 4-1 in duals over two days in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
• Cornell defeated South Dakota State, Michigan State, Wyoming and Missouri in South Beach.
• Cornell's lone loss at the South Beach Duals was against Minnesota.
• The Big Red won three duals decided by one match (SDSU, MSU, Missouri), with Brendan Furman winning the dual-deciding matches against SDSU and Missouri.
• Cornell trailed, 18-3, against Missouri before going on a 16-0 run over the final four weights.

DARMSTADT LEADS NCAA DIVISION I IN FALLS

• Cornell sophomore 197-pounder, Ben Darmstadt, is currently the NCAA Division I leader in wins by fall with 11 in the span of 20:09. Darmstadt leads Central Michigan heavyweight Matt Stencel (10) and George Mason 149-pounder Colston DiBlasi (9).
• Only matches won against NCAA Division I opponents count towards the NCAA wrestling award standings.

WEIGHT CHANGES FOR CORNELL
 After at fifth-place finish at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, head coach Rob Koll made the decision to bump sophomore Ben Darmstadt back up to 197 pounds from 184.
• Darmstadt had wrestled the entirety of his freshman season in 2017-18 at 197 before moving down in the lineup this season.
• Darmstadt was an All-American at 197 as a freshman, taking sixth at NCAA's and finishing the season with a 34-4 record.
• Moving to 184 pounds is freshman Jonathan Loew, who started the season at 197 for the Big Red.
• Loew went 13-4 at the larger weight and has wrestled the last five duals at 184, going 2-3 against a slew of former NCAA qualifiers.
•At the South Beach Duals, Loew defeated Dylan Wisman (Missouri) and Tate Samuelson (Wyoming) and lost to Cameron Caffey (Michigan State), Zach Carlson (South Dakota State) and Owen Webster (Minnesota)

BIG RED QUALIFY TWO FOR OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS
Yianni Diakomihalis and Vito Arujau each qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trails following a pair of top-5 finishes at the 2019 U.S. Senior Nationals, hosted at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, Dec. 20-22.
• Alongside Cornell wrestling alumni, Kyle Dake '13 and Nahshon Garrett '16, Diakomihalis and Arujau are set to compete at the trials, held April 4-5, 2020 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pa.
• Arujau placed third at 57kg following wins over Desmond More, Zach Sanders and Nick Suriano. Arujau's lone loss of the event came against eventual champion, Spencer Lee.
•Diakomihalis took fourth at 65kg, defeating Mario Mason, Nick Dardanes, Ben Whitford and Bryce Meredith. Diakomihalis' lone competition loss of the event came against Joey McKenna, 6-5, in the semifinals. In the third-place bout, Diakomihalis forfeited to Nick Lee.
Andrew Berreyesa and Max Dean have yet to qualify for the team trials and will have one more chance to qualify, at the Last Chance Qualifier held in Millersville, Pa. on March 26-28.

BREAKING GROUND
• Cornell wrestling broke ground on an estimated 5,500 sq. ft. addition to the Friedman Wrestling Center on Thursday, Dec. 26.
• The new addition, to the rear of the existing building, will add space for locker rooms, a warm-up practice gym, an upgraded fitness space, a film room, a nutrition zone and a lounge, in addition to upgrading several other spaces throughout the facility.
• Construction is anticipated to be done in August 2020.

NEXT UP
• Next week the Big Red will be in action for two duals, traveling to Rutgers on Friday, Jan. 17 and hosting Virginia Tech in Newman Arena on Sunday, Jan. 19.
• Rutgers is a perfect 6-0 in duals so far this season and recently took seventh at the Southern Scuffle. The Scarlet Knights will face Ohio State and Michigan State on Jan. 10 and Jan. 12, prior to hosting Cornell.
• One of the top teams in the country, Virginia Tech is 5-0 in duals, highlighted by wins over four ranked teams (Missouri, Northwestern, Ohio State, Central Michigan).
