2020 FloWrestling RTC Cup presented by Titan Mercury Wrestling Club

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell wrestlers past and present are set to compete at the 2020 FloWrestling Regional Training Center (RTC) Cup over the weekend. The Spartan Combat RTC, which operates out of Cornell's Friedman Wrestling Center, is one of six teams slated to compete on Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5. Each team will start in a pool of three on Friday before moving on to the championship bracket on Saturday.
 
Spartan Combat's first dual in Pool B will be against the Ohio RTC at 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday, followed by a 4:00 p.m. ET match against the New Jersey RTC/Southeast RTC team to wrap up pool play. Pool A will consist of teams from the Wolfpack RTC, Minnesota Storm and Cliff Keen Wrestling Club. The top finisher in pool play earns a first-round bye in Saturday's bracket. If Spartan Combat were to finish at the top of it its pool, it would face either the third place team from Pool A or the second place team from Pool B.
 
Competing under the Spartan Combat RTC are three Cornell wrestlers, Vito Arujau (57kg), Yianni Diakomihalis (65kg), and Jacob Cardenas (97kg). Kyle Dake '13 (74kg), Gabe Dean '17 (86kg) and Max Dean (86kg) were originally slated to compete, but will no longer make appearances at the RTC Cup. Nahshon Garrett '16 (57kg) will compete as a member of the New Jersey RTC/Southeast RTC team after joining the Southeast RTC on Nov. 22.
