PRINCETON, N.J. — Even though the women's squash team left the snow behind when it hit the road for an Ivy League match on Friday, the Big Red still encountered plenty of tough sledding at Jadwin Gymnasium in a 8-1 loss to Princeton.

Sophomore Sivasangari Subramaniam improved to a perfect 11-0 on the season for Cornell (5-8, 1-4 Ivy League), which entered the weekend tabbed 11th in the College Squash Association's national rankings. Subramaniam cruised to a three-game victory in just 22 minutes against Elle Ruggiero.

Second-ranked Princeton (10-1, 5-1) was victorious the other eight scoring matches – six via three-game sweeps. Sophomore Lily Zelov won the second game in her match at No. 2 and freshman McKenna Stoltz won the third at No. 7, but both would ultimately be defeated in four games. Cornell has never defeated Princeton in 28 all-time meetings.

The Big Red is back in action at noon Sunday, when it returns to Ithaca for an Ivy League match against Penn at Belkin International Squash Courts.
