ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell offense rushed for 375 yards and posted its largest margin of victory in nine years en route to a 35-0 shutout victory over Brown on Saturday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field. The Big Red improved to 3-2 (2-1 Ivy), while the Bears slipped to 0-4-1 (0-3-1 Ivy) with the loss.

Scott Malaga rushed for 121 yards on 23 carries and Mike Brown added 61 yards on just eight attempts as eight different players had at least 20 rushing yards.

With all of its success on the ground, the team's first three touchdowns all came from the arm of Aaron Sumida. Sumida hit Sam Brickley for 24 yards and Frank Monago for 27 in the second quarter, then found Steve Lutz from 8 yards out on the opening drive of the second half to all but put the game away. The Cornell defense and the Big Red running game did the rest.

Brown was limited to 210 total yards and just 61 through the air on 9-of-22 passing. Sumida, meanwhile, was 8-of-14 for 113 yards and three scores. His favorite target was Brickley, who hauled in three passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. The Big Red controlled the ball all afternoon, racking up 30 first downs (23 rushing) to Brown's 12 and winning the time of possession battle (32:08-27:52). Cornell was able to stay on the field at will, as it converted 11-of-14 attempts on third down.
