ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from the Cornell football team's 34-16 loss to No. 19/15 Princeton on Friday.

NOTES TO KNOW

  • Cornell is now 2-7 in games played on a Friday and 1-1 this season.
  • The Big Red is 14-52-2 all-time against top 25 teams and 0-3 this year.
  • Cornell is 0-3 all-time in games played on ESPNU.
  • Prior to this season, the last time had three players with at least 400 receiving yards in a season was in 2013 when Grant Gellatly (1,224), Luke Hagy (652) and Lucas Shapiro (600) each had at least 600.
  • Cornell allowed just one sack, maintaining its season average that ranks first in the Ivy League and ninth nationally (1.0 sacks allowed per game).
  • Jameson Wang's 51 rushing yards were more than Princeton had allowed total in four of its first six contests. The Tigers entered the game surrendering 53.3 yards per game, No. 2 nationally.
  • Wang has posted a team-high 249 rushing yards this season, the most by a freshman in a single season since Luke Hagy had 528 yards during the 2021 campaign.
  • Wang's 6.9 yards per carry would be the highest by a player with at least 30 rushes since William Scazzero averaged 6.929 yards in 1950.
  • Richie Kenney has now posted 3,380 passing yards (No. 6 all-time at Cornell) and 14 touchdowns (No. 15 all-time at Cornell).
  • Thomas Glover posted eight catches for 133 yards, the third 100-yard game of the season. No Cornell receiver had three 100-yard games in the same season since Grant Gellatly had five in 2013.
  • Glover's 44 catches this season is the most by a Big Red player since Grant Gellatly had 91 in 2013, while his 600 yards trails just the 677 by Phazione McClurgge in 2019 over the past seven seasons.
  • Cornell outgained the Tigers, first team to do that in 2021 and first time overall since Penn in the final game of the 2019 campaign.
  • Over the final seven Princeton possessions, not including two kneeldowns at the end of the game, Cornell limited the Tigers to 44 yards and one first down on 22 plays with five three-and-outs and a turnover.
  • Jake Stebbins' 13 tackles were the most by a Big Red player in a game since Lance Blass registered 15 in a 2018 contest with Dartnouth.
