ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from the Cornell football team's 41-7 loss at No. 22/23 Dartmouth on Saturday.

NOTES TO KNOW

  • Eddy Tillman led the Big Red in rushing with 36 yards on six carries, marking the fourth game this season that a freshman has led the team in ground yards. The last time that happened was in 2012 when all 10 games were paced by rookies (nine times by Luke Hagy, once by Silas Nacita).
  • With his nine tackles, Jake Stebbins is now tied atop the Ivy League top tackles list with 86, the most by a Big Red player since Brett Buehler had 103 during the 2013 campaign.
  • In two seasons, Stebbins has been credited with 144 tackles and 16.5 for a loss. Those numbers already rank 70th and 32nd in school history, respectively. His 7.5 sacks is 28th.
  • The Big Red did not commit, nor cause, a turnover. It's the first time neither team committed a turnover in a game involving the Big Red since Cornell and Columbia closed the 2019 season without a miscue. Since 1962, there has only been 13 games played by Cornell where neither team was charged with a turnover.
  • The contest was Cornell's fourth this season against a ranked team, a school record. The Big Red has played three ranked teams in a year four times previously (1947, 1948, 2003, 2006).
  • Cornell was last held under 100 yards passing when it completed 6-of-15 passes for 41 yards in a 3-0 win over Columbia in 2015.
  • Freshman Damon Barnes was credited with his first three career tackles with one for a loss.
  • With his four catches, senior Thomas Glover pushed his season total to 51. It's the 21st season that a Big Red player reached the 50-catch plateau.
  • Glover's 718 receiving yards ranks 18th in a single season and is 109 away from finishing in the top 10.
  • Richie Kenney's 29 passing yards lifts his career total to 3,557 - good for sixth all-time at Cornell.
  • The Big Red offensive line surrendered one sack against Dartmouth and enters the final weekend of the season ranked sixth nationally and first in the Ivy League at 0.89 per game. It also ranks 10th in the country in fewest tackles for loss allowed at 3.89.
  • The fewest sacks Cornell has allowed in a single season (since it was first tracked as an official stat in 1996) is 17, done three times (2001, 2005, 2006).
  • Cornell had the ball just 23:09, its shortest time of possession in a contest since a 2016 game against Penn when it held the ball just 20:59.
