ITHACA, N.Y. -- Army West Point piled up 482 yards of offense to improve to 6-1 on the season with a 66-6 triumph over Cornell in a Friday evening sprint football contest at Schoellkopf Field. The big Red closes its season at 2-5 with the loss.
Harrison Nicholas had the Big Red highlight of the night, returning a third quarter interception 45 yards for a touchdown. He added six tackles, including 1.5 for a loss and also broke up a pass.
John Browning chipped in 12 tackles and
Billy Turner and
Will Anderson had 10 apiece for the home team.
On the offensive side,
Jacob Wynkoop had 26 rushing yards on 13 carries as Cornell had 46 rushing yards.
Jackson Kennedy averaged 34.9 yards on nine punts with two pinning Army inside the 20.
Four different rushers scored a total of five touchdowns on the ground, with Henry Beck (96 rushing yards, one touchdown) and Scott Belveal (83 yards, two touchdowns) leading the way. Three quarterbacks combined to go 11-of-19 for 207 yards and four touchdowns, with four different receivers hauling in scores.
