Yale Slips Past Field Hockey in Final Game of the Season

NEW HAVEN, CONN. — The Cornell field hockey team concluded its season with a 2-1 loss to Yale Saturday.

Caroline Ramsey scored her 18th goal of the season off a penalty corner when the Big Red lined up for its first of three on the day. Kate MacGillis inserted to Bridget Mahoney's stick stop and the junior from New Vernon, N.J. found the bottom of the net to give the Big Red a 1-0 advantage all the way through the first half of play.

The Bulldogs (9-8, 4-3) came out hungry and re-energized in the third quarter and quickly scored two goals thanks to Imogen Davies. Davies' first goal was unassisted while Theodora Dillman had the initial shot that was deflected in by Davies for the game winner.

The Big Red totaled nine shots compared to Yale's 20. In net, Aerin Park recorded a season-high nine saves while Yale's Luanna Summer secured the win with just two stops.

The Big Red finish the year with an 8-9 (3-4) record.
