ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team wraps up the fall semester with a its Ivy League opener against Columbia at noon Sunday. Live scoring is scheduled to be available through csasquash.com.
 
Cornell opened the season by splitting a pair of neutral-site matches Nov. 20-21 in Philadelphia, defeating Bates (9-0) before a narrow 5-4 loss to Virginia. Those results aligned with the involved teams' current placement in the College Squash Association national rankings, with Cornell sitting at ninth as of Nov. 18 (though the CSA will likely update its rankings later this week). Senior Charles Culhane, junior Humza Khan and sophomore Nick Robinson all swept both of their respective matches.
 
Columbia (3-0) is tabbed sixth in the most recent CSA rankings, defending that placement with a 6-3 victory over seventh-ranked Virginia on Nov. 14. The Lions' other victories have come against 12th-ranked Western Ontario and 16th-ranked Franklin & Marshall. Columbia has found the most success from the bottom two-thirds of its order, with the team going 3-0 from positions 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 so far.
 
With a pair of 7-2 victories in its last matches between the teams, Columbia has taken a 6-3 lead in the all-time series with Cornell since it resurrected its program for the 2011-12 season. Junior Veer Chotrani secured one of the Big Red's points from the No. 1 spot in the last meeting on Dec. 8, 2019.

The Big Red had also been scheduled to open the weekend with a match at Williams, but that contest has since been canceled by the Ephs.
