ITHACA, N.Y. – Mike Grey, the David Dunlop '59 Head Coach of Wrestling has released the Cornell wrestling schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The slate features seven home duals in addition to the EIWA Championships that will be hosted by the Big Red in Ithaca.

Cornell opens its season in the newly renovated Friedman Wrestling Center with a dual against Stanford University at 6:30 p.m. on November 20. The Big Red will celebrate the return of long-time head coach Rob Koll, who departed for the Stanford position in May. It's the first home dual in Friedman since February 15, 2020.
The Big Red return to the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, December 3-4 for what is always one of the toughest tournaments of the season. Cornell has 20 Cliff Keen champions all-time with the last being Chas Tucker at 133 pounds in 2019. Junior
Yianni Diakomihalis was the Cliff Keen champion at 141 pounds as a freshman in 2017.
One of the most anticipated events of the season for wrestling fanatics, the National Duals returns for the 2021-22 season and Cornell will be in attendance. Held in Destin, Florida on December 20-21, the National Duals features some of the most prominent programs in the country. The field, which includes Iowa, Arizona State, Michigan, North Carolina State, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Northern Iowa, Central Michigan, Lehigh, Oregon State and Hofstra will be placed into four pools of three. Winners of the pools will advance to a four-team bracket where the National Duals Champion is determined.
Cornell will return to the Southern Scuffle for the first time since 2017, when it's held in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 1-2. The Big Red have won the Southern Scuffle on three occasions (08/09, 09/10, 10/11) and have 22 champions all-time. Hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the Southern Scuffle is another early season tournament with deeply talented brackets.
An early-season EIWA clash with rival Lehigh opens the remainder for the dual schedule when the Big Red head to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on January 8. Lehigh has won the last four EIWA Championships team titles and is a perennially tough opponent.
Cornell keeps the trend of EIWA opponents going when it welcomes Army West Point to the Friedman Wrestling Center on January 16. Army is one of two United States Military Academies that will wrestle the Big Red in 2022. Navy will meet the Big Red in Ithaca on January 29.
The Ivy League schedule kicks off with a pair of duals against Harvard and Brown on January 22. Columbia comes to town on January 29 as part of a doubleheader with Navy.
Cornell hits the road for the remainder of its Ivy League slate, facing 2020 Ivy League champion Princeton on February 5 and UPenn on February 6. While in Philadelphia, the Big Red added a dual against Drexel.
Senior day will take place in the Friedman Wrestling Center on February 12 against Binghamton, marking Cornell's final home dual of the season. The Big Red will close out its dual season with a road match against Wisconsin on February 20, getting the team one final tough match prior to the EIWA Championships.
Originally scheduled as the host for the 2020-21 season, Cornell will host the EIWA Championships, held March 4-5 in Ithaca, for the first time since 2003. Cornell owns 25 EIWA team championships and 163 individual EIWA championships all-time with a total match record of 1,558-1,095. The Big Red last brought home the EIWA team title in 2017.
Following the EIWA Championships, qualifiers for the 2022 NCAA Championships will travel to Detroit, Michigan to compete March 17-19.
