ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team opens a promising 2022-23 campaign with a matchup with Gardnertown on Friday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center. It will be head coach Anthony Condo Jr.'s first game as head men's coach since taking over the program in September. The Big Red will then hit the road for the first time this season at Skidmore on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.

Cornell and Gardnertown last squared off in October 2021 with the Big Red coming away with a hard-fought 17-11 win. The Big Red led 10-9 after three chukkers in that contest, only to outscore the visitors 7-2 the rest of the way. Cornell and Skidmore usually meet multiple times annually, with the Big Red sweeping the home-and-home series by a combined score of 44-19.

The Big Red went 13-4 last season, falling in the Northeast Intercollegiate Regional finals. Three of its four defeats came at the hands of Virginia, with the lone other defeat a one-score loss to Kentucky.

Senior Taylor Palacios and his brother, junior Eduardo, join seniors Pablo Herrera, Patricio Fraga-Errecart and Nick Paciorek as the team's top returners.
