ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 8-ranked Cornell men's squash team opened its 2022-23 season with a dominant performance over Western, 8-1, at the Belkin Squash Courts on Saturday.

Veer Chotrani (No. 1), Aaron Liang (No. 2), Spencer Yager (No. 4), Humza Khan (No. 5), and Nicholas Goth Errington (No. 9) each earned straight-set victories for Cornell (1-0) over Western (0-1) to open the season.

Arnaav Sareen (No. 3), Rohan Iyer (No. 6), and Morgan Huberman (No. 8) also won their respective matches, aiding the Big Red to its seven-match victory.

Nicholas Robinson (No. 7) battled in a five-set match, ultimately falling to Western's Taylor Carrick, 11-9, 3-11, 11-9, 6-11, 8-11.

Looking Ahead

The No. 8-ranked Big Red will return to Belkin Squash Courts next weekend when it welcomes Williams (Saturday, Nov. 19) and Brown (Sunday, Nov. 20). The match against Williams is slated for a noon start, while the Big Red's first Ivy League match against Brown is slated for a 2 p.m. start. Both games will be streamed live on Stretch Internet.
