#8 Men’s Squash Improves to 2-0, Defeats #14 Williams

ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second consecutive weekend, the No. 8-ranked Cornell men's squash team posted an 8-1 victory, this time defeating No. 14-ranked Williams at the Belkin Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.

Seven Cornell players registered straight-set victories including the Big Red's top three players in the ladder: Veer Chotrani (No. 1), Aaron Liang (No. 2), and Arnaav Sareen (No. 3).

Liang quickly took care of business on Saturday, losing eight of the 41 games played, claiming his straight-set victory in a team-best 23 minutes.

Rohan Iyer (No. 6), Tanay Punjabi (No. 7), Morgan Huberman (No. 8), and Nicholas Göth-Errington (No. 9) were the others to not lose a game.

Spencer Yager (No. 4) battled in a four-set match and Humza Khan (No. 5) fell in straight sets to Williams' Asher Leavy.

No. 5 Match: Asher Leavy def. Humza Khan, 11-9, 11-5, 11-8.
No. 6 Match: Rohan Iyer def. Alex Akbari, 11-9, 11-7, 11-5.
No. 7 Match: Tanay Punjabi def. Jon Nicholson, 11-7, 13-11, 11-4.
No. 8 Match: Morgan Huberman def. Leonard Lee, 11-3, 11-5, 11-4.
No. 9 Match: Nicholas Göth-Errington def. Pierce Henderson, 11-4, 11-9, 11-8.

Looking Ahead

Cornell returns to the court on Sunday when the Big Red welcomes Ivy League opponent Brown to the Belkin Squash Courts. The first trio of matches are slated to begin at 2 p.m., with all matches streamed on Stretch Internet.
