ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from Cornell's 45-22 loss at Columbia on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Wien Stadium.

Team Notes

  • Cornell posted its sixth consecutive game with at least 100 rushing yards as a team - the first time it hit that milestone since the final six contests of 2019.
  • With two successful PAT kicks against Columbia, the Big Red has now converted 60 consecutive attempts.
  • With 14 sacks allowed this season, Cornell's offensive line surrendered its second-fewest since the stat was first kept in 1996. Only last season, with nine, saw fewer.
  • Cornell's average of 33:32 in time of possession is the most in school history - just ahead of the 2005 squad that averaged 33:27 per game.
  • On average, Cornell's 33:32 time of possession per game was nearly two minutes longer than any other team in the Ivy (Princeton, 31:44).
  • The Big Red converted its first two-point conversion since 2021 when Jameson Wang threw to Thomas Glover, the second time that season the two connected after a touchdown.
  • It was the 84th successful two-point conversion in school history dating back to 1958.
  • Cornell had three players with at least 40 points scored (Jameson Wang 50, Jackson Kennedy 46, Thomas Glover 42) for the first time since 2012 (Luke Hagy 54, Luke Tasker 50, John Wells 46) and just the fourth time this century (2000, 2005, 2012, 2022).
  • Cornell has led its opponent in time of possession for five straight games, the longest streak since the final four games on 2006 and the first of 2007.
  • The 2006 season was also the last that saw the Big Red hold a time of possession edge in eight contests.

Player Notes

  • Fifth-year senior Thomas Glover caught two touchdown passes in a game for the second time this month and third time in his career.
  • He closed his Big Red career with 106 catches (14th all-time at Cornell) for 1,347 yards (No. 15) and 10 touchdowns (No. 10).
  • His six touchdown receptions in 2022 are the most by a Big Red player since Ben Rogers also caught six in 2016.
  • Jameson Wang threw three touchdowns, becoming the first Cornell QB to pass for three scores in a game since Dalton Banks at Brown on Oct. 20, 2018.
  • Wang is now responsible for 30 career touchdowns, the 10th most of any player in Big Red history.
  • With his 50 points, Wang became the first Cornell quarterback to lead the team in scoring since Ryan Kuhn's 12 touchdowns garnered him 72 points in 2005 to pace the squad.
  • His 13.4 points responsible per game ranks first in the Ivy League and 31st nationally.
  • Wang also became the first Big Red quarterback to lead the team in rushing in consecutive seasons since Gary Wood did the trick in three straight years from 1961-63.
  • With his eight tackles, senior Jake Stebbins closed his campaign with 230 stops - good for 16th in school history.
  • Stebbins became the first Big Red linebacker to lead the team in tackles in consecutive years since Chris Costello in 2008-09.
  • Trey Harris finished the season with three forced fumbles, the most by a Big Red defender since Kurt Frimel dislodged the football three times during the 2016 campaign.
  • Harris tied for the Ivy League lead and ranked eight in the FCS.
  • Paul Lewis III posted just the 11th season in school history with at least 50 tackles (52) and double figures in pass breakups (11).
  • Jackson Kennedy's 46 points this season are the most by a kicker since John Wells also scored 46 in 2012.
  • Kennedy's 25-for-25 season on PAT kicks rank as the fourth-most in a single season and the best mark since Boomer Olsen was 32-for-32 in 2013.
  • Manny Adebi's four blocked kicks led the Ivy League, tied a school record, tied for first among all FCS players and ranked fourth among college football players at all divisions.
  • Matt Robbert's three touchdown catches this season set a new single-season school record for tight ends.
  • His four career touchdowns matches Matt Sullivan for most career touchdown catches by a tight end.
  • At 15.09 yards per catch, Robbert posted the highest average with at least 30 receptions since Lucas Shapiro in 2013 (15.79 yards per catch on 38 receptions).
