Football Puts 12 On All-Ivy League Team

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell football team put 12 of its student-athletes on the All-Ivy League team when the selections were announced on Tuesday afternoon following a vote of the conference's eight head coaches. The 12 Big Red All-Ivy members matches 2005 as the most in a season since 1995 (14). Cornell had six chosen to the second team and six more earned honorable mention accolades.
 

Second Team All-Ivy

Thomas Glover (5th, WR, Pasadena, Calif.)
• Caught 48 passes for 540 yards and six touchdowns and also ran for a score while starting all 10 games at wide receiver.
• His five receiving touchdowns in league play led the Ivy League, while his six overall was second.
• Closed his Big Red career with 106 catches (14th all-time at Cornell) for 1,347 yards (No. 15) and 10 touchdowns (No. 10).

Joe Kelly (5th, OL, Leawood, Kan.)
• Started all 10 games at guard and blocked for an offense that led the Ivy League in time of possession by nearly two minutes per game.
• The offensive line surrendered just 14 sacks, the second-fewest in school history (nine in 2021).
• The team allowed one sack or fewer in six contests, including two games with zero sacks allowed.

Jackson Kennedy (Jr., PK, Aldie, Va.)
• Connected on 7-of-11 field goals and all 25 PAT kicks during the season, posting 46 points (second on the team),
• Ivy League and National Special Teams Player of the Week after he drilled a 45-yard game-winning field goal with 1:55 remaining at Colgate, capping off a perfect kicking day (2-for-2 field goals, 4-for-4 PATs).
• Had 23 touchbacks on 42 kickoffs, averaging 57.7 yards per attempt.

Davon Kiser (Fr., Ret., Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
• One of three players in the Ivy League with a kickoff return TD
• Averaged 39.0 yards on three kickoffs.
• Also caught seven passes for 35 yards.

Paul Lewis III (Sr., DB, Middle River, Md.)
• Second on the team with 52 tackles and led the Big Red with 11 pass breakups.
• Third in the league in passes defended (11) (28th nationally) and first in Ivy with 10 pass breakups.
• Had at least two pass breakups in four games, including three Ivy contests.

Jake Stebbins (Sr., LB, Cranberry Township. Pa.)
• Had a team-best 76 tackles with 2.5 for a loss, two fumbles recovered, three pass breakups and two hurries in 10 starts.
• Is the conference's active leading tackler (230 stops – 16th in school history).
• Ranked fifth in the Ivy League in tackles and second in fumbles recovered with two, a number that sits 13th nationally.
 

Honorable Mention All-Ivy

Demetrius Harris (5th, DB, Muskegon, Mich.)
• Compiled 43 tackles with four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, an interception and a fumble recovery in 10 contests.
• Was third in the league in forced fumbles overall and in league games (two).
• Team captain.

Connor Henderson (Jr., LB, Matthews, N.C.)
• Ranked fifth on the team with 47 tackles, adding three pass breakups, a fumble recovers, three quarterback hurries and an INT.
• Had 10 tackles and a PBU in the win over Dartmouth.
• Posted nine tackles with an INT and a FF in the win over Lehigh.

Max Lundeen (5th, DL, East Grand Rapids, Mich.)
• Had 19 tackles with team highs of 4.0 tackles for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles.
• Was third in the Ivy in fumbles forced (two).
• Strip-sack with under 30 seconds remaining inside the Cornell 10 helped the Big Red top Brown on the road.

Matt Robbert (Jr., TE, Centereach, N.Y.)
• Second on the team in receptions (31), receiving yards (468) and receiving touchdowns (three), the latter a record for a Cornell tight end.
• Led the Ivy League in yards per catch in Ivy games (16.5) while ranking in the top 10 in receiving yards per game.
• Posted seven catches for 116 yards at Princeton.

Micah Sahakian (Jr., OL, Mount Prospect, Ill.)
• Started all 10 games at tackle, blocking for an offense that led the Ivy League in time of possession by nearly two minutes per game.
• The offensive line allowed just 14 sacks, the second-fewest in school history (nine in 2021).
• The line allowed one sack or fewer in six contests, including two games with zero sacks surrendered.

Jameson Wang (So., QB, El Segundo, Calif.)
• Accounted for a league-best 22 touchdowns (14 passing, 8 rushing).
• Rushed for 559 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and passed for 1,650 yards and 14 scores (.573 completion percentage)
• Top 100 nationally in 14 offensive categories.

The Big Red finished the 2022 campaign with a 5-5 mark (2-5 Ivy) and posted its first unbeaten non-league season since 2007. Cornell opens the 2023 campaign when it visits Lehigh on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Bethlehem, Pa.
