ITHACA, N.Y. – Sophomore Cecily Pokigo and junior Reagan Pauwels each earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Along with Pokigo and Pauwels, senior Sara DeGraw was an Honorable Mention All-Ivy selection.

It is the first time at least three Cornell players have earned All-Ivy distinctions in the same year since 2015 when Ellie Crowell and Kelsey Tierney (All-Ivy First Team), Charlotte Tate (All-Ivy Second Team), and Shanay Fischer (All-Ivy Honorable Mention) were all recognized.

Pokigo, a natural midfielder, made the transition to the back line last year following multiple injuries to defenders. Appearing in 15 of the Big Red's 16 matches this season and making 13 starts, Pokigo played an integral role in Cornell's four clean sheets, which were the program's most since also having four in 2017.

Pauwels recorded both of her goals on the campaign in the Big Red's final two games of the season. Both of the goals scored by Pauwels on the year proved to be game-winning goals for the junior midfielder from Wall, N.J. She became the first Cornell player since Paige DeLoach in 2016 to record game-winning goals in consecutive matches.

DeGraw split her time between midfield and defense throughout the season. Starting in 14 of her 16 appearances on the season, DeGraw recorded her lone goal of the season in the Big Red's home opener against Marist on Aug. 28.

Also announced Wednesday was the All-Academic Ivy League team, which featured senior Emily St. John. Currently scheduled to graduate from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, St. John started in 11 of her 16 appearances this season for the Big Red and was a key contributor at the defense and midfield positions.

Cornell finished the season with a 4-7-5 overall record and a 2-3-2 mark in Ivy League play, finishing fifth in the Ivy League table. It is Cornell's best finish in conference play since tying for fifth in 2015.
