1/25/2023 11:00:00 AM

ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 8-ranked Cornell men's squash team returns to the Belkin Squash Courts this weekend when it opens a three-match Ivy League homestand against top-ranked Harvard and No. 10 Dartmouth.

Both matches are scheduled for noon starts and will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.

The Big Red (5-4, 1-3 Ivy), who will be playing its fifth and sixth consecutive games against opponents ranked in the top 10 of the College Squash Association (CSA) rankings, is looking to snap its four-game losing streak this weekend.

Senior Veer Chotrani and junior Spencer Yager have identical 6-3 records on the year, which paces the Big Red this season.

Yager posted a four-game victory in Cornell's loss to No. 6-ranked Trinity last weekend.

Scouting Harvard

Harvard enters this weekend's matches as the top-ranked team in the CSA rankings with a 9-0 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Ancient Eight play.

Marwan Tarek has appeared in eight of Harvard's matches at the top spot, honing an 8-0 record so far this season. Neel Joshi also has an 8-0 record this year, having played between the bottom three positions on the Crimson's ladder.

Joining Tarek and Joshi with eight wins this season is George Crowne and Tate Harms, who both have 8-1 records.

Cornell will be looking for its first victory over Harvard since Dec. 4, 2010. The Big Red have lost its last 12 meetings with the Crimson, who have registered five consecutive 9-0 victories over the Big Red.

Scouting Dartmouth

No. 10 Dartmouth has a 4-6 overall record on the year, while going 0-4 in Ivy League contests.

The Big Green have recorded just one point over its last four matches, three of which came against Ivy League opposition.

Six Big Green players have a team-high four victories this year, highlighted by Aryan Khandelwal and Auggie Bhavsar's perfect 4-0 records. Felix Feldman (4-1), Mac Aube, Chris Zachary, and Lucan White are all 4-2 this season.

Cornell faced Dartmouth twice last year, once in the regular season and the other meeting came at the CSA National Championships.

The Big Red have won its last three matches over the Big Green.

Looking Ahead

Cornell will conclude its homestand next weekend when it hosts Columbia in the final home match of the season on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Belkin Squash Courts. First matches are scheduled to begin at noon, and will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.
