ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 6-ranked Cornell women's squash team will look to extend its winning ways into a three-match homestand at the Belkin Squash Courts, which begins this weekend against No. 2-ranked Harvard (Saturday) and No. 10 Dartmouth (Sunday).

Both matches are scheduled to begin at noon, and will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.

The Big Red defeated No. 5-ranked Yale, 5-4, this past Sunday thanks to junior Wen Li Lai coming back from being down two games to post a 3-2 victory and aid Cornell to its first win over Yale since Jan. 20, 2001, snapping a 23-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.

Freshman Alysa Ali also recorded a victory in five games, while seniors Sivasangari Subramaniam and Lily Zelov, and freshman Aishwarya Khubchandani won their matches in four games for Cornell, who is 7-2 on the year and 3-1 in Ivy League play.

Cornell's three Ivy League wins are the most since also having three Ancient Eight victories in the 2016-17 campaign.

With a win over Harvard or Dartmouth this weekend, Cornell will have four Ivy League wins for the first time in program history.

Scouting Harvard

Harvard enters the weekend ranked No. 2 in the College Squash Association (CSA) rankings with a 6-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Ivy League play.

The Crimson had its 102-game winning streak snapped by top-ranked Trinity on Jan. 15, 7-2. Despite having its overall win streak snapped, Harvard has won its last 51 Ancient Eight contests, dating back to the 2014-15 season.

Marina Stefanoni is 7-0 at the top position on the Crimson's ladder. Habiba Eldafrawy has split time between the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, but is also a perfect 7-0 on the season.

Cornell is still seeking its first victory over Harvard, as the Crimson have won all 31 prior meetings.

Scouting Dartmouth

Dartmouth, who is No. 10 in the CSA rankings, has a 4-6 overall record and an 0-4 Ivy League mark.

The Big Green have lost its last four matches, generating just two points over the matches.

Priya Verma (6-2) and Callie Worth (6-4) each have a Dartmouth-leading six wins on the season.

Cornell defeated Dartmouth last year, 6-3, behind three-game victories by Sivasangari Subramaniam, Wen Li Lai, Lily Zelov, and Ania LaDow. Selena Georgieva and Alexis Shatzman posted five-game victories for the Big Red.

Dating back to the 2008-09 season, Cornell has won 13 of the last 15 matches against Dartmouth.

Looking Ahead

Cornell will conclude its homestand on Saturday, Feb. 4, when the Big Red welcomes Columbia to the Belkin Squash Courts for the program's final home match of the season. First matches are scheduled to begin at noon, and will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.
