#5 Women's Squash Gets Victories From Top Three Positions in Loss to #2 Harvard

ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 5-ranked Cornell women's squash team had victories from its top three positions in the Big Red's 6-3 loss to No. 2-ranked Harvard at the Belkin Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Sivasangari Subramaniam, junior Wen Li Lai, and freshman Aishwarya Khubchandani were victorious for the Big Red (7-3, 3-2 Ivy).

Subramaniam handed Harvard's Marina Stefanoni her first loss of the season with a three-game victory, 11-2, 11-9, 11-5.

Lai continued her undefeated season with a five-game win over Saran Gregory-Ngheim, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-5.

Khubchandani battled in her match with Habeeba Eldafrawy, winning the first two games by 11-3 and 11-7 scores. Eldafrawy responded with 14-12 and 11-6 victories to force a decisive fifth game, which Khubchandani won 12-10.

Sophomore Ananya Dabke (No. 4), and seniors Alexis Shatzman (No. 7) and Ania LaDow (No. 8) lost in four games for Cornell.

Fellow senior Mckenna Stoltz posted a five-game victory in the No. 10 exhibition match, 6-11, 11-4, 11-5, 5-11, 12-10.

Looking Ahead

The Big Red return to the Belkin Squash Courts on Sunday when it welcomes Dartmouth for another Ivy League contest. First matches are scheduled for noon. Game action will be broadcast on Stretch Internet.
