ITHACA, N.Y. -- Take a look back at Cornell football's 35-25 loss to Colgate this past weekend.
PLAYER NOTES
• With his two rushing touchdowns, junior
Jameson Wang upped his career total to 15, the 17th player in school history to reach that mark.
• With 1,090 rushing yards for his career, junior
Jameson Wang moved into 29th place on the school's career list, Next up in 28th is former All-Ivy quarterback Ryan Kuhn '06 (1,110)
• Wang also upped his career passing yardage total to 2,674 yards, good for 14th at Cornell.
• His 22 passing touchdowns moved him into a sixth-place tie with Mark Allen '74, four behind Nathan Ford '09 for a top five mark.
• Wang needs four completions to jump into the top 10 (Mark Allen at No. 10 with 249).
• With 3,734 yards of total offense, Wang moved into the top 10, surpassing former teammate Richie Kenney '22 (3,580 yards).
• Wang's second career two-point conversion made him the 16th player in school history with multiple two-point conversions. The school record of four was set by Rick Furbush '71.
• Wang has upped his career scoring total to 94 points and is now one touchdown away from becoming the 24th player in Cornell history to surpass 100 for a career and the first since Harold Coles '20.
• Now up to 37 career touchdowns responsible for, Wang is tied with Gary Wood '64 and Nathan Ford '09 for seventh on the school's all-time list and two from matching Bill Lazor '94 for sixth.
• Junior
Nicholas Laboy caught seven passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, his first career 100-yard game and the 144th in school history.
• With his effort, Laboy surpassed 500 career receiving yards (584) and now has four receiving touchdowns with scoring receptions in each of his past two games.
• Senior
Anthony Chideme-Alfaro hauled in his first interception of the season and the second of his career.
• Senior
Jackson Kennedy's 66-yard punt was his second-longest in the past three weeks, but is also the sixth-longest by a Big Red player in the 21st century.
• Kennedy is 14-of-19 on field goals over the past two seasons. His .737 field goal percentage is third among all Big Red kickers with at least 14 career made field goals (Nickolas Null '20 at .762, John McCombs '00 at .743).
• With his two PAT kicks, Kennedy is now 31-for-31 for his career. Only AJ Weitsman '06, at 42-for-42, has made more without a miss all-time at Cornell.
• With 73 career points, Kennedy is 17th all-time in kicking points and is 12 shy of joining the top 10.
• Senior
Noah Taylor's career-high 15 tackles leaves him at 99 for his career. With one more stop, he'll become the 140th player in school history to reach that milestone.
• Taylor's 15 tackles were the most by a Big Red player in a single game since Lance Blass '19 also recorded 15 against Dartmouth in 2018.
• Junior wide receiver
Luke Malaga had his first career catch, a 21-yarder.
• Junior linebacker
Luke Banbury was credited with a career-high seven tackles, while classmate
Damon Barnes posted a career-best five stops.
• Junior safety
Trey Harris was credited with his first tackle for loss.
• Senior
Drew Powell's four receptions against Colgate were a career high and surpassed his ttoal catches (three) from his first three years.
• With three catches for 22 yards, senior
Matt Robbert surpassed 600 receiving yards and now has 46 receptions, nearing becoming the 55th player in school history to hit that milestone.
TEAM NOTES
• The Big Red's five-game non-conference win streak that was snapped was the program's longest since winning seven in a row from 2006-08.
• Cornell hasn't thrown an interception in four games spanning 141 passing attempts, including all three contests this season with 111 throws.
• Cornell has rushed for at least 100 yards as a team in nine consecutive contests, the longest such stretch since a streak of 13 in a row that covered all of the 2005 season and the first three contests of 2006.
• The Big Red has now connected on 66 consecutive PAT kicks as a team, the last 31 by
Jackson Kennedy.
• The Big Red is now 107-69-5 (.605) all-time in the month of September.
• With 29:08 in time of possession, Colgate snapped the Big Red's school record streak of seven consecutive games holding the ball longer than its opponent.
• Cornell slipped to 437-43-4 (.907) all-time when leading after three quarters.
• The Big Red fell to 37-36-2 (.507) all-time on Homecoming with its fifth straight loss and its sixth consecutive defeat in its home opener.
• Colgate's 216 rushing yards were the most surrendered by the Big Red since Dartmouth had 292 at Dartmouth in 2021.
• The Big Red is 7-of-8 on field goals so far this season, while opponents are 0-for-4 with one kick blocked.
• Cornell's 80 team tackles were the most in a game since it had 82 against Lehigh last season and is tied for the second-most stops in a contest since 2018.
• Amazingly, of Cornell's 61 first downs through three games (20.3 per game), the Big Red has not earned one by penalty.
