ITHACA, N.Y. -- Take a look back at Cornell football's 36-14 win over Brown this past weekend.
PLAYER NOTES
• With 85 career points, Kennedy is up to 10th place all-time in kicking points where he's tied with Trevor MacMeekin '05.
• Kennedy's 28-yard field goal as time expired to end the first half means the senior has now ended five of the past nine halves of play with a walk-off kick.• Kennedy's 13 field goals is tied for second all-time and is one shy of AJ Weitsman's school record of 14 from 2005.
• Kennedy's 20 field goals in the past two seasons are the most over a two-year span at Cornell, surpassing Mike Cochrane (1992-92) and Peter Zell (2006-07) with 19.
• The 20 career field goal makes ranks fourth all-time at Cornell.
• With 51 points through six games, Kennedy sits fifth in a season in kicking points at Cornell. He is approaching Brad Greenway's single-season kick scoring record of 75 points from 2011.
• Kennedy has three games with three field goals made in 2023, joining Mike Cochrane (1992) as the only Big Red player to make three or more field goals in three games in a single season.
• With 97 career points, Kennedy is three points shy of becoming the 25th player overall and sixth kicker with reach the 100-point milestone.
• Junior quarterback Jameson Wang's 27 completions and 330 passing yards were both career highs.
• His 330 passing yards ranks 27th in a single game in school history.
• Wang's 352 yards of total offense was the most by a Big Red player since Dalton Banks had 332 yards against Brown in 2019.
• With 4,546 yards of total offense, Wang ranks eighth all-time at Cornell with Chad Levitt (4,657 yards) and Ed Marinaro (4,715 yards) up next.
• Wang's 42 touchdowns accounted for (18 rushing, 24 passing) ranks fifth on the school's career list, matching Dalton Banks '19.
• With 1,177 rushing yards for his career, Wang moved into 26th place on the school's career list. Next up is Pete Fitzpatrick '94 (1,179), Dick Jackson '56 (1,181) and Evan Simmons '02 (1,210).
• Wang also upped his career passing yardage total to 3,369 yards, moving him to seventh in Cornell history.
• Senior linebacker Connor Henderson's five tackles upped his career total to 97 and is three shy of becoming the 141st player at Cornell to reach that milestone.
• After compiling seven catches for 87 yards against Brown, senior wide receiver Nicholas Laboy upped his career receiving total to 826 yards (tied for 35th all-time).
• Senior Paul Lewis III posted a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown, the 49th pick-six in school history and the longest by a Big Red player since Rush Imhotep '15 brought one back 55 yards against Columbia in 2011.
• The interception was the first of his career, while his two passes defended give him 18 for his career, tied for 22nd all-time.
• Paul and Jeremiah Lewis are the second set of brothers to record interceptions in the same game for the Big Red, joining John and Ron Vitullo against Lehigh in 1992.
• Three other sets of brothers have posted interceptions while suiting up for the Big Red over their careers - Dan and Mike Scully, Jim and John Frontero and Greg and Doug Knopp.
• Senior safety Brody Kidwell is the first player to have interceptions in consecutive games since Jelani Taylor in 2019 against Brown and Princeton.
• Freshman Samuel Musungu posted career highs of six catches for 75 yards, the most in a game by a freshman receiver since Eric Gallman II posted nine receptions for 97 yards against Yale in 2017.
• Freshman Ean Pope scored his first career collegiate touchdown and became the first Big Red freshman to score on the ground since Gannon Carothers in the 2022 opener at VMI.
• Pope is the first Cornell player other than Jameson Wang to score a rushing touchdown this season.
• Also scoring his first collegiate touchdown was Doryn Smith on a 37-yard reception in the first quarter.
• Senior Matt Robbert posted his first receiving touchdown of the season and the fifth of his career - a Cornell record for tight ends.
• Senior Manny Adebi's two catches for 28 yards were both career highs.
• Senior tight end Matthew Pilc was credited with his first career catch for 8 yards.
TEAM NOTES
• The 22-point victory marked the largest margin for the Big Red since the 2019 season, where the Big Red defeated Columbia, 35-9, in the season finale.
• The Big Red narrowed Brown's lead in the all-time series to 38-31-1.
• Cornell now has a 314-253-14 mark in the month of October.
• It was Cornell's first 300-yard passing game since throwing for 312 yards at home against Brown in 2021.
• The Big Red is 241-12 (.953) all-time when scoring at least 30 points.
• Cornell is 245-149 all-time in games decided by three or more touchdowns (21+ points).
• The Big Red offensive line did not allow a sack for the first time this season.
• In three Ivy League games this season, Cornell has possessed the football an average of 37:45, including a season-best 39:47 vs. Brown.
• Cornell has won the time of possession battle in nine consecutive Ivy League contests.
• As part of that, Cornell held the football for a total of 23:02 in the first half.
• The last time the Big Red held the ball in an Ivy game for more than the 39:47 against Brown was in 2017, also at home against the Bears, when it was at 40:20 for the contest.
• The Big Red has forced 10 turnovers while committing just five this season.
• In its past two games, Cornell has forced opposing quarterbacks into 28-of-60 passing with four interceptions.
• The Big Red has made 75 first downs in three Ivy League games compared to 54 for its opponents.
• In those same Ivy games, Cornell has run 235 offensive plays to just 166 for its foes.
• The Big Red's streak of consecutive PAT kicks converted was snapped at 70, including 35 in a row by
Jackson Kennedy.
• Cornell is 13-of-15 on field goals so far this season, while opponents are 0-for-4 with one kick blocked.
• The Big Red hasn't allowed a field goal in six consecutive games and just one over the past 11 contests dating back to last season. The six-game streak is the longest without allowing a field goal since going 11 games from 1977-78 (final three games of 1977, first eight games of 1978).
• Cornell has scored on 21-of-23 trips to the red zone this season, including 19 consecutive after going 3-for-3 vs. Brown.
