ITHACA, N.Y. -- Men's squash returns hungry for more in 2023-24 following an 8-9 team finish in 2022-23. With the return of senior Veer Chotrani, the Big Red will lean into its experience to take on a schedule of some of the nation's top teams in hopes of a team return to the College Squash Associations National Championships with a finish in the finals. The Big Red is set to enter the season ranked as the No. 9 team in the country.

Alongside Chotrani, who will fully return to the court in the spring semester, Aaron Liang, Arnaav Sareen, Spencer Yager, Rohan Iyer, Tanay Punjabi, and Morgan Huberman are also back, rounding out a strong returning group. Each of those names appeared in last seasons CSA National Championships. Chotrani, Liang and Sareen also represented the men's team at the Individual Championships, with Chotrani upsetting Harvard in the quarterfinals to make the first Pool trophy semifinal appearance since 2011. The return of seven of the nine from last year's lineup will help the Big Red return to the national stage.

Cornell will get the season underway this weekend when it takes on No. 11 Williams College and No. 18 Amherst College. The Big Red travels to Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Amherst, Mass on Sunday, Nov. 19. The Big Red holds a narrow 17-15 lead over Williams, but took an 8-1 victory last season. Against Amherst, Cornell boasts a 12-7 record all-time, including a 9-0 sweep in 2009, the last time the teams matched up.
