ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's squash team opens the 2023-24 season with a pair of road matches in Massachusetts this weekend.
The Big Red faces No. 14 Williams College on Saturday, Nov. 18, and No. 13 Amherst College on Sunday. Both matches start at noon.

Cornell opens the season at No. 9 in the College Squash Association rankings.

The Big Red went 9-8 overall and 5-2 against Ivy League teams last season.

The Big Red will need others to step up in place of Sivasangari Subramaniam, who graduated in the spring after a decorated career for the Big Red. She won 11 of her 12 matches last season and finished as a runner-up for the Ramsay Cup for the second time in her collegiate career. As a junior, she went undefeated (15-0) and won a CSA individual national title. She was a three-time first-team CSA All-American.

Senior Wen Li Lai went 13-4 last season, earning second-team CSA All-American honors. She garnered first-team honors as a sophomore.

As a freshman last season, Alysa Ali went 12-5 and reached the quarterfinals of the Holleran South bracket in the CSA National Individual Championships.

Sophomore Aishwarya Khubchandani went 11-5 and won the Holleran West title at the CSA National Individual Championships.

Junior Ananya Dabke won seven matches in 16 appearances last season.

Senior Ania LaDow won six matches.
