PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell football put six student-athletes on the All-Ivy League teams at seven positions, which were announced Tuesday afternoon following a vote by the conference's head coaches. Leading the pack was fifth-year senior defensive back Paul Lewis, who was the first first-teamer since the 2021 season. All other Big Red honorees were named to the second team.
First Team All-Ivy
Paul Lewis III (5th, DB, Middle River, Md.)
• Recorded 38 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one sack, one interception and five pass breakups while playing and starting in all 10 games. Â
• Was fourth on the team in tackles and second in pass breakups. Â
• Grabbed a 55-yard pick-six in a win over Brown, the first pick-six by the Big Red in over a year. Â
• The 55-yard pick-six was the longest by a Big Red player since Rush Imhotep '15 brought one back 55 yards against Columbia in 2011. Â
• Second-team All-Ivy selection in 2022.
Second Team All-Ivy
Micah Sahakian (Sr, OL, Mount Prospect, Ill.)
• Started all 10 games at right tackle across the season, now has a start streak of 11 consecutive games.
• Allowed the second-fewest sacks in the Ivy League this season (1.3 sacks allowed per game), a mark the ranks 18th nationally.
• Took the second-most side-of-ball snaps on the team entering the Columbia game.
• The offensive line never allowed more than 2 sacks in a game all season, and only allowed 11 sacks total with Sahakian in the game.
• Helped the Big Red to the second-best time of possession in all of Division I football, averaging 34:35.
• Honorable mention all-Ivy in 2022.
• Served as Cornell's offensive captain.
Jameson Wang (Jr, QB, El Segundo, Calif.)
• Started all 10 games this season, bringing his consecutive career start total to 20.
• Wang led the Ivy League in completion percentage (64.8 percent) while attempting the third-most passes (375 attempts). The completion percentage is good for 23rd nationally.
• Of the five Ivy League quarterbacks that started every game this season, Wang is one of two to never tally a completions percentage below 57.7 percent, and is the only one to have just one game below a 60 percent completion percentage.
• Wang ranks third in the Ivy in passing yards (2,472 yards), passing yards per game (247.2 yards per game), and completions (243 completions). Both QBs that he trails threw more interceptions across the season.
• Wang was responsible for the third most points in the Ivy by a non-kicker, accounting for nine passing touchdowns and a two-point conversion.
• His nine rushing touchdowns helped him set the school record for most-career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, which sits at 20 after the 2023 season.
• Wang ranks second in the Ivy and eighth nationally in total offense, averaging 288 yards per game.
• 2022 honorable mention All-Ivy.
Nicholas Laboy (Sr, WR, Gaithersburg, Md.)
• Finished his Cornell career on a 20-game start streak.
• Tallied the fourth-most receiving yards in the Ivy (705 yards), doing so on at least nine fewer catches than the top-two Ivy League receivers.
• Averaged the third-most catches per game in the conference (5.8), good for 20th in the FCS.
• One of three Big Red to tally two touchdowns across the season.
• On the receiving end of the Ivy League's highest completion percentage.
Holt Fletcher (Sr, LB, Matthews, N.C.)
• Played in nine games, amassing 36 tackles and a team-leading 4.5 tackles for a loss of yards. Â
• Finished tied for the team lead with two interceptions, with both of them coming in Cornell's season-opening victory against Lehigh on the road. Â
• Intercepted two passes for the second straight season, a mark that is tied for 10th-most in the Ivy. Â
• Finished tied for the team lead with two sacks. Â
• Had five or more tackles in three games.
Jackson Kennedy (Sr, K, Aldie, Va.)
• Became the 25th player in Cornell history to hit the century mark in career points, finished the season with 58 points.
• The single-season points mark ranks fifth-most in Cornell history.
• Went 16-for-17 on the season in extra points, including having a 36-long PAT streak that was finally snapped against Brown.
• Made the longest field goal of his career at 46 yards against Bucknell.
• His 21 made field goals across his career ranks fourth all-time at Cornell.
• Second-team All-Ivy selection in 2022.
Jackson Kennedy (Sr, P, Aldie, Va.)
• Three-time Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
• Ends the season with 39.4 yards per punt, the third most in the Ivy League.
• Nine of Kennedy's punts were inside the 20.
• Seven punts were good for 50+ yards.
• Kicked the Ivy League's longest punt of the year, and the second longest punt in Cornell history at 81 yards.
